The company history of Ilgenfritz Mechatronics
The story of Ilgenfritz Mechatronics begins with a predicament. Michael Ilgenfritz, a farmer himself, faced daily issues with his own agricultural machinery. Instead of resigning himself to these shortcomings, he developed an automated load shift that was unavailable on the market. From this necessity, he founded his own company in the year 2000.
With innovative solutions for agricultural technology, Ilgenfritz Mechatronics began to grow. Today, the company offers a broad portfolio of products and services, including CAN all-wheel steering, remote PTO controls, and a fast repair service.

2000
Founded as a one-man business
Development of automatic air conditioning systems for John Deere and Fendt tractors; development of automatic load control devices for John Deere; development of the first tuning hardware for Common Rail, Bosch VP30 and VP44 and Stanadyne DE10 injection systems.
2003
Distribution via Degenhard Landtechnik
New facilities for development and production were created.

2010
Change of name to Ilgenfritz Electronics GmbH & Co. KG
The product range is growing continuously. More than 150 ECUs that can be repaired, more than 50 different auxiliary ECUs, more than 600 tractor types for which a performance upgrade is available.
2012
Field service and relocation
Employees with a mobile dynamometer take up work. In December the company moves into the new building with 400 m² of floor space.
2014
Product spectrum becomes broader
Steadily increasing product quantities and growing customer base. Developments expand the product range.
2015
Number of employees increases
15 employees contribute to the growth of the company. Customers from all over the world are supplied with goods and services.
2017
Extension of the premises
Extension of the building to over 1100m² for more comfort, a larger warehouse and additional workstations. Placement machine for board production is introduced.
2018
CERES Protect and Smart Repair
The fleet manager and anti-theft protection CERES Protect goes on sale. Thanks to Smart-Repair many standard electronic parts can be checked and repaired even faster.
2019
Repair service grows steadily
More than 1,500 electronic parts from over 300 manufacturers are now tested and repaired.
2020
Change of name
Change of name to Ilgenfritz Mechatronics GmbH.
2022
Expansion of workplaces in the repair laboratory
Due to steadily increasing repair orders, new workplaces were added and skilled workers were hired.
Two apprentices will start training as electronics technicians for devices and systems on 01.09.2022.
2023
Stronger strategic cooperation with the Fricke Group
The partnership with the Fricke Group and the Granit Service Center has been significantly increased. An even closer cooperation enables us to grow further and to better provide our products and services also on an international level.
2024
We are growing
Over 40 employees (including 6 trainees) are now contributing to the company's growth. We are offering 5 more apprenticeships in administrative and technical jobs for the 2024 apprenticeship year.
