In Germany alone, more than 800,000 tons of electronic waste are generated every year. And the trend is rising. Worldwide, e-waste in 2021 was already 57.4 million tons (Source).
So many old parts could still be repaired and refurbished. Often it is only a small part that breaks and thus puts the entire device out of action. From a non-expert point of view, the part no longer works and a new one is needed. This is not only true for household electronics, but also for control units from the agricultural sector.
Unlike other repair shops, we deal exclusively with electronics from agricultural and construction machinery. Before you decide to throw something away, think about the environment as well. For example, to produce a new monitor with touch display, many scarce resources, such as metals or ores, are used. The CO2 emissions that result from the production of new electronics also pollute the environment. Electricity prices are also high, especially in times of crisis, and should be kept as low as possible. In addition, water consumption should not be forgotten. For example, several thousand liters of water are used to manufacture a circuit board. This is needed for the entire manufacturing process.

If you notice a defect in your electronics or a control unit, you should first try to repair it. Most people do not dare to work on electronics themselves. That's understandable, because a non-professional can often break more when it comes to delicate components. A professional repair requires much less resources than the production of a complete new part. We only replace the defective parts in our repair shop (e.g. defective displays or keys). This is only a very small part of what is used and produced for a new purchase.
Another advantage for a repair is that you do not have to worry about disposal. Electronic waste may not be disposed of in household waste, but must be recycled in complex separation processes. This process again uses vast amounts of energy and resources that are harmful to the environment.

Replacing a defective display, for example, is much less expensive than buying a completely new terminal. Monitors, control units or operating units for agricultural machinery often cost several thousand euros. Such an investment is not easily possible for everyone. Let's take an instrument panel from John Deere as an example. This instrument cluster costs about 1,800€ new. A repair is available from 170€ depending on the defect.

In times of supply problems, production difficulties and staff shortages, buying new parts can also take a long time. New parts are not always in stock, but have to travel long distances first.
In the case of a repair, we need far fewer resources and can often offer you a faster service. Since we have most of the spare parts we need for the repair in stock, a repair usually runs within 3-5 working days.
